Parents of Hook Elementary Students

Dear Parent: 

Due to road construction projects that will begin after school has let out on Friday March 6, 2009, and will continue into the summer months we are going to change some procedures that should help with the traffic flow during the times that students are being dropped off and being picked up at school.

Clinton St. will continue to be ONE WAY from Frey to Vanderbilt during the times students are dropped off and being picked up. These times are 7:30 to 8:30 in the morning and 2:30 to 3:30 in the afternoon.

The intersection of Ollie and Jones will be closed as part of the road construction, and there will not be access to the drive currently used by 3^rd grade parents for drop off and pick up on Jones.

The following procedures are for parents dropping off or picking up students at Hook Elementary.

Third grade parents will now use Clinton St. along with the 4^th grade parents.  The school is going to change release times to assist with the amount of traffic on Clinton at one time. Both Drop off and pick up will occur on the Clinton St. side of the school.

There will be no change in the procedure used for drop off and pick up used by 4^th grade parents.

You may wait in the no parking areas as long as you stay with your car. Drivers violating traffic laws or parking restrictions will receive a ticket. There will be no warnings other than this letter.

Our goal is to keep the traffic moving and to keep your children safe. Please keep this in mind when driving around the school. Drive with courtesy and respect for other drivers and pedestrians.
